Tom Meyer brings decades of public sector experience to lead program integrity for HHAX.

New York – November 15, 2016 – In a move that continues to raise the bar in enabling the most effective homecare outcomes, HHAeXchange (HHAX) today announced that Tom Meyer would be joining the company as Chief Program Integrity Officer.

Meyer, who recently served as New York State’s Acting Medicaid Inspector General, offers more than 30 years of experience in information technology and more than ten years of experience in the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General. In his role as Acting Medicaid Inspector General, he was responsible for monitoring fraud, waste and abuse in the healthcare system, with a specific focus on home care.

HHAX is simplifying the complex homecare industry and changing the game for payers and providers. In addition to offering the industry’s leading electronic visit verification (EVV) technology, HHAX’s platform goes further to seamlessly connect payers, providers and members to minimize risk, increase accountability and improve outcomes for homecare members.

As Chief Program Integrity Officer, Meyer will ensure that HHAX’s platform continues to help all homecare stakeholders comply with state regulations and prevent fraud, waste and abuse. Meyer will work with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), state Medicaid professionals and other HHAX customers to demonstrate the value and need for a robust and collaborative platform in home care.

“The demand for a complete and collaborative solution in home care is massive, and HHAX is addressing one of the greatest needs in the homecare industry by connecting payers, providers and members in a single system,” said Meyer. “As acting Medicaid inspector general, I’ve experienced the many disconnects in the homecare ecosystem firsthand, and the time is ripe for a solution that will reduce costs, improve efficiencies and minimize fraud, ultimately allowing our most vulnerable populations to stay healthy in their homes longer.”

Meyer’s background with the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General will give HHAX’s customers unique insights into effective strategies for reducing and eliminating fraud, waste and abuse in the homecare system. With New York State, Meyer had direct oversight of more than 300 state staff, and was tasked with developing strategic goals and execution for the agency’s mission statement.

“Tom’s history working directly with Medicaid fraud will bring enormous benefits to our customers,” said Greg Strobel, president at HHAX. “Fraud and waste are significant issues in the homecare industry, and Tom will be an integral part of our team to ensure that our customers are efficiently complying with state regulations and reducing possibilities for fraud in the home.”
